otis mountain get down
A truly special place and weekend of music, art, and community.
The stones: a pile taller than the both of us, all washed down the mountain from a flood the prior year.
The concept: inspired by the river that runs alongside the mountain. A curved stone formation following the land's natural flow—as if peeling away from the main riverbank to carve its own path, echoing the river's lines, eddies, movement, and with some bubbles along the way.
The why: to create invitations for folks to explore and play. To pause, gather, connect, dance, climb around, however the space spoke to them in the moment. And as a fun surprise, becoming a backdrop for a recording session with Liz Cooper.
Seeing it all come alive in all these ways during the festival was so much fun. Big thank you to the Otis crew. And to Dave Foster for his excavator expertise, we couldn't have made it happen without you.
