ledge staircase

We loved this setting for a staircase. From the minute the homeowner proposed this site, our creative juices were flowing. Around the idyllic property were remnants of old structures–this inspired the look and feel of a staircase that has been woven into the land for as long as the house old ice house foundation had been there, with hints of partial ruin, suggesting there was a perhaps there was once a barn here as well. Something that was intentional, grounding, purposeful, well-loved for years and years to come, a timeless feel. The steps led you up a beautiful ledge, hugged trees along the way, and guided you to a special  distant view of Camel's Hump at the top.
