ledge garden

What started as a retaining wall and stair project evolved into something even more special when we uncovered a stunning natural ledge hidden beneath the surface. We adjusted the design to highlight its raw beauty, allowing it to become a defining feature of the space.

The new stone wall and stairs were built both for function and to guide movement through the yard, toward the garden path and beyond. A stone raised-bed garden was also added, along with a pathway linking the shed to the side yard—creating safer access and making it easier to transport their kayaks.

This transformation brought a new sense of openness to the landscape, drawing attention to the surrounding plants and natural features while improving the overall flow of the space and encouraging exploration and everyday interaction outside.
